Pearl is inimitable among all gemstones and the best thing about pearl is that it is the only gem found inside a living creature and is especially cultivated for the purpose of jewelry. Pearls have certain remedial properties also. For instance, pearls are used in cosmetics and as a medicine to treat heart, stomach and eye ailments, sometimes fever and bleeding also. Special types of pearls can also be used in some cases related to calcium deficiency.

Traditionally, pearls have been associated with faith, charity, innocence, reliability, focus, knowledge, holiness, sincerity, and fertility.
